PIM2008 Conference took place in Long Beach, CA, USA from March 10-12, 2008.

The objective of the PIM2008 conference is to continue to explore advances, assist in the transfer of technology, and investigate new developments in the field of powder injection molding of metals, ceramics, and carbides.

Ms Velda Josef represented AMT to share with the audience on the wide range of applications that SUS 440C stainless steel can offer due to its high hardness. In the field of Metal Injection Molding (MIM), this material has also seen a rise in its demand. As with most of the MIM materials, the material properties show a range and variations, due to the fact that different processing conditions results in variations in the sintered material properties. This paper presents the effect of MIM processing conditions on the mechanical properties of the 440C stainless steel. In addition, a comparison of the properties of 440C and M2 tool steel is presented.

A Strategic Spectrum

AMT’s new industrially focused vision targets five main markets: Electronics, Medical, Automotive, Industrial and Energy. This enables us to focus and embrace business opportunities in strategic growth areas to meet market needs with increased responsiveness. Concurrently, AMT will continue to strive for excellent customer service to provide quality Powder Injection Molding technology, sub-assemblies and contract manufacturing services.

In recognition of our restructuring we have introduced new corporate images for these five focus industries.

Our ability to change and develop our structure without interruption is borne out with waves. These are derived from the crest on the capabilities’ current logos. They are a metaphorical representation of the infinite quantity of opportunities we provide and evoke dynamic movement in sync with our wider environment.

The three waves intertwine with each other showing that our business sectors are in harmony and are always supporting our strong team-working ethos.

Together, these visual transformations to our business reflect the real repositioning of AMT in the market and bring us a new challenge that we will thrive in. Our new industrial focus will improve our service, which is being constantly recognized by the industry – respect we endeavor to preserve.
