Making “Impossible” complex internal Undercut Channels → Possible!
What customer needs:
A high volume manufacturing process for a challenging new concept for a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) nozzle. The nozzle is a component in the SCR exhaust system using urea and compressed air to reduce the NOx produced by the engine exhaust system. For the SCR catalysts to obtain the best possible results, it is vital that the urea is evenly sprayed into the exhaust tract.
AMT Value-Add:
AMT works with the client to bring product to market from concept to mass production. The desired product design was made possible by employing AMT patented Incoring® technology to nebulize through Austenitic Stainless Steel internal undercut channels. This enables the urea in the nozzle to be evenly sprayed into the exhaust tract. These internal undercut channels feature was deemed impossible to manufacture using conventional machining. This component was awarded the MPIF 2015 Grand Prize.

CuMIM® – Copper MIM for automotive heat sink
What customer needs:
Complex geometry copper parts is used as a heat sink for the automotive passenger car. This is because copper parts has the ability to dissipate any heat generated from the electronics to keep the camera cool within its operating temperature. The thermal image allows the driver to “see” in the dark and to detect any human or animal which is out of the visible range during the night.
AMT Value-Add:
Using the CuMIM® technology, AMT is capable to mass-produce parts with copper (Cu) material using the MIM technology. AMT optimized the MIM capability to produce pure copper parts with complex geometries and at the same time, utilize the capability of the copper material with thermal conductivity of 320 W/mK for heat dissipation function.
